Weekend Homework 6A and 6B
1) Practice area and perimeter:
Step #1: Choose a number (one digit, two digit, three digit, etc.)
Step #2: Create as many rectangles as possible that have an area of that number in cm squared
Step #3: Find the perimeter of each
Step #4: Create as many rectangles as possible that have a perimeter of that number in cm
Step #5: Find the area for each
Use only whole numbers for the dimensions.
Eg:
Number chosen: 8
Area of 8 cm squared: (draw them out)
Option 1 - L: 4 cm W: 2 cm --- Diagram --- Perimeter would be 12 cm
Option 2 - L: 8 cm W: 1 cm --- Diagram --- Perimeter would be 18 cm
Perimeter of 8 cm: (draw them out)
Option 1 - L: 3 cm W: 1 cm --- Diagram --- Area would be 3 cm squared
Option 2 - L: 2 cm W: 2 cm --- Diagram --- Area would be 4 cm squared
Repeat - continue choosing numbers in order to challenge yourself and become more proficient in finding area and perimeter. Choose numbers with two digits, then three digits, etc.
2) Get math quiz signed
6B (and 6A if not finished)
3) Exploring Perimeter sheet
