We had an exciting and busy first week back to school! This week we talked about respect in the classroom and the school. I am very impressed with how well we are able to listen while others are talking. We talked about self respect and discussed students' right to wait until the class is quiet and listening before answering or asking a question.

On Friday we watched a video about growth mindset in math and discussed the idea that everyone can learn math to high levels with practice and effort. Students took notes during the video on what they heard and what they thought was important. They learned and applied note taking methods such as using abbreviations, drawing pictures and using symbols instead of words to record information faster.

Homework for 6A and 6B is:

1) Complete student interest surveys (math, writing and use of technology) and return to school on Monday.

2) Please bring $6 to purchase an agenda, or bring your own. There will be an agenda check next week - every student is encouraged to bring an agenda to record their homework.

Have a great weekend, get lots of rest and be prepared for another busy week!
